Quality Life Center of Southwest Florida is excited to announce details about their 2023 annual Gala and the dynamic committee overseeing the event. The 2023 Gala will be held Friday November 10, 2023 at the Sidney & Berne Davis Art Center. This year’s theme will be Carnival, Caribbean Celebration.
Leading the 2023 committee is local attorney Christine King of CKing Justice Law. King has been a long-time supporter of the Q and is honored to take the lead elevating the event. “We have put together an amazing team to create a signature Lee County gala and spread awareness about the amazing work of Quality Life Center and its mission to cultivate and support their students in all aspect of their lives.”
Fellow Lee County attorney Kristie Scott also brings her talents to the 2023 committee. Scott is the founder of Light Path Law PA, a law firm focused on business and church law. Kristie has been named and recognized during her legal career as a rising star and a leader in the law and is no stranger to supporting our community. She is a member of numerous social and legal organizations and is a business law professor at FGCU.
Bringing her business experience to the committee is Dr. Victoria J Blaine the founder and Senior Tax Advisor of Hancock, Graham & Associates. Dr. Blaine strongly believes in the Q’s mission of helping kids and families in the community thrive by offering after school programs, mental health services, summer camp and whole person development unlike other programs.
Roxanne Janecki is founder of Jumperado, an elite horse boarding facility in North Fort Myers. Janecki brings an entrepreneurial spirit, an eye for detail, and an appreciation for creative excellence to the committee. Janecki is a paralegal, former chef and a certified Bikram Yoga teacher and former owner of a successful studio in New York.
Cherline Louissaint was invited to the committee because of her passion for health, fitness and mental wellbeing, a passion shared by the Quality life Center and a central theme for the 2023 gala. Coach Che, as she is known, owns Increase the peach fitness center and is the creator of the upcoming inaugural FitMixFest in Downtown Fort Myers.
Actively involved with the 2022 Gala location, FGCU, as the volunteer coordinator, Prisca Morisma brings her vast experience in education and training in non-profits to this years committee. When not supporting the Q, Prisca can be found teaching in Immokalee and also on the Board of Directors of local soccer and support charity, Bonita Springs Wildcats
Quality Life Center board member Janis Wiebel is among the dynamic team organizing the 2023 Gala. Wiebel was named Sr. VP of Commercial Banking of
Seacoast Bank. Janis is very involved in the community with a focus on education.
Another banking specialist and board member on the 2023 Committee is Cynthia Valenti Smith. Smith is a Production Manager at Regions Bank for SW Florida and has personally assisted clients with their residential loans for over 28 years and over $900M in volume. When not assisting her clients, Smith provides financial wellness training to non-profits to help people achieve home ownership.
Education is in the forefront for committee member Tamara Joy Hunter, a 2023 Golden Apple nominee and past teacher of the year. When not in the classroom, Hunter can be heard on Lee Pitts Live and last year broadcast live with Pitts at the 2022 Q Gala. The Q fills in where schools let out and that is why Hunter is passionate about supporting the Q’s largest annual fundraising event.
Aside from education, the Quality Life Center has a big focus on the mental wellbeing of its students and their families, and 2023 committee member Nzingha Gaines is able to support that mission. Gaines is a Mental Health specialist and Academic Consultant and motivation speaker and is also a Yoga Instructor.
Keeping the committee organized and focusing on design, 2023 committee member Angela Pena is a licensed real estate agent and a professional organizer. Pena serves as the Parent & Volunteer Coordinator for the Quality Life Center and was named the 2023 event director for the women’s council of realtors in the Fort Myers-Cape Coral Network.
