The Center for Progress and Excellence is a non-profit organization whose vision is to provide comprehensive social and behavioral health services to the Southwest Florida region, in order to promote self-sufficiency and personal progress throughout our community, regardless of race, religion, gender, nationality and economic status. Their vision is to ensure the provision and accessibility of mental health and behavioral health services to the Southwest Florida Community, including at a minimum, the groups mentioned below.
Proceeds from this event will go toward two focus areas:
- A mobile crisis unit which will consist of highly trained and specialized professionals who will assist law enforcement in managing crisis situations in an effective, holistic and humane manner.
- LGBT Transitional Home. Many LGBTO youth have the added layer of trauma that comes with being rejected or mistreated because of their sexual orientation, gender identity or gender expression. This transitional housing program will empower the young men and women with the tools needed to live independently.
