Introduction to Florida Gardening – Part II
In Part II, we will introduce participants to the concepts of “Florida Friendly Gardening,” understanding our soils and learning the proper use of fertilizers and soil amendments. Like our plants, we have unique pests and we cover their ID and discuss when to use chemical versus biologic controls as recommended by the Green Industry – Best Management Program concepts. Part II will also cover common weed identification and diseases. We will wrap up with a discussion on selecting plants for your Florida landscape and a Q & A Session. The last 20 minutes of class will be held in our Butterfly Garden.
At the conclusion of class, each participant will receive a 20% discount coupon for plant purchases at our Garden Shoppe.
Advance Registration is required. Limited to 25 participants.
Class will be held at the Garden Council Building located across the street from the Edison and Ford (Larchmont Avenue) parking lot.
Cost: Edison Ford members: $45; non-members $55. Register online at edisonford.org.
